Objectives
Vulnerable and low-income families with monthly income ranging above Rs14,650 up to Rs18,860 may register under the National Database for Vulnerable Groups through the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity.
The National Programme on Case Management aims at providing support to households registered on the National Database by addressing their needs, challenges and vulnerabilities and connecting them to essential support services.
Interventions
The Programme adopts a standard case management approach with the following features.
- Family-centered – the family is the main unit of intervention
- Multidimensional – multiple dimensions of poverty and vulnerability are addressed
- Empowerment – develops capacity and strength of families to support themselves
- Psychosocial support – emphasises psychosocial accompaniment for positive behaviourchange
- Relationship building – maintains regular follow-up and relationships with beneficiaries
- Referrals – connects beneficiaries to essential support services
- Tracking progress – monitors the progress of beneficiaries
- Partnership – involves multi-stakeholder participation
Implementation
The National Programme on Case Management is implemented through selected NGOs having the necessary experience and technical capabilities in social work practice and case management. Selection is made on the basis of Calls for Expression of Interest.
Discounted Food Support Programme
Families registered under the National Database for Vulnerable Groups also benefit from the Discounted Food Support Programme (DFSP). The DFSP is a collaboration between the NSIF and AVIPRO Co Ltd. Households are provided with a discount voucher of Rs200 monthly on their purchases of chicken and chicken products at participating Chantefrais outlets.
